Take a part of your time to recognize the good things in your life.2. Sleep on it. Every coin has two sides and every issue has both pros and cons. List them both then put the list away and take a second look tomorrow. Sometimes “sleeping on” a situation changes the minuses to pluses.3. Every cloud has a silver lining. After all, rain makes things grow! Ben Franklin found good in a bolt of lightning. Find the good in your stressful situation by listing the negative surges and determining what it will take to make them into positive charges!

Over 90,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed every year in Pakistan and the disease claims about 40,000 deaths in the country each year reveals a shocking new report. The country spends 0.57 per cent of the GDP on health, which is the lowest in South Asia, says the report “A life worth living,” prepared by the Pink Ribbon Campaign Pakistan ahead of a month-long awareness campaign being launched in October worldwide. While the unreported cases are expected to be much more, even with the existing figures Pakistan has the highest rate of breast cancer in Asia.About one of every nine Pakistani women is likely to suffer from breast cancer at some point in her life, whereas in India it is one in 22, says the report. Every fifth woman in Pakistan develops breast cancer after the age of 40. About 77 per cent of invasive breast cancer occurs in women over 50 years of age. The average age at diagnosis is 64.
However, a majority of Pakistani women are reluctant to consult doctors and be examined because of shyness and social customs. As a result, women are unaware of the dangers of breast cancer, Omar Aftab, National Coordinator of Pink Ribbon Campaign Pakistan, says. He said the organisation was set up in Pakistan in 2004, when the Women’s Empowerment Group observed the astonishingly high breast cancer prevalence here.
It was found that breast cancer was one of the fastest growing national concerns, but was being neglected at all levels due to social and cultural restraints. A nationwide awareness campaign was initiated to project breast cancer as a premier health concern. The report says women form about 52 per cent of the population, 68 per cent rural and 32 per cent urban. Overall, female literacy rate is 35 per cent, but 77 per cent of the women have not completed higher secondary school.The biggest challenge is to direct a message that enunciates early detection and self-diagnosis steps without offending the stern social and cultural beliefs. Poor access to healthcare, lack of medical facilities and infrastructure not only limits the early diagnosis but also hinders treatment.The government and private hospitals lack resources to provide adequate diagnostic and treatment facilities to the growing number of patients. The number of specialist physicians, oncologists and radiologists specifically lady doctors is too low and specialised facilities are limited to some main cities.
“The available human resource in the health sector in Pakistan is dismally low as it shows a ratio of 1,254 people per doctor, 2,671 per nurse, 6,235 per midwife and 18,318 per lady health visitor,” the report says. When women, after overcoming lots of obstacles in the house when reach a hospital for consultation and found that the doctor concerned is not present they find it difficult to visit again. A delay in diagnosis, in many cases, proves fatal.
In the past, the report says, running a breast cancer awareness campaign in Pakistan also required a change in media’s attitude. As, even now, research and development are at their lowest and the absence of a cancer registry substantiates this.

2- Write everything down. Even (or especially) on bad/splurge days. It’s only if you write things down that you know what you are doing. I’m not saying don’t have the Peking Duck. I am saying, at least know what having the Peking Duck means
3- I find sticking a wedding invitation or holiday photograph of destinations I want to visit in a prominent place in the kitchen. This is a bit more subtle than a fat photograph of yourself and reminds you when you are tempted
4- Use scales in the kitchen - it’s amazing how easy it is to deceive oneself
5- I think it is a good idea to buy some new clothes when you are down a size or two. That way, you are reminded of what you have achieved and not to go back to old sizes. Chuck out the old stuff or give it away
6- Life is too short so build in treats! Ok my weight loss is nice and slow but I don’t feel like I am on a diet or that I am depriving myself of anything (including chocolate and cheese
7- Be honest with yourself. Ok, if you go over the required cals, but keep a record, it’s the average calorie intake that matters
8- It is not rocket science, but I am convinced that exercising is the key to success with sustained weight loss. I try to vary my routine, including the cross trainer and walking regularly, and cycling and swimming occasionally
9- Always measure alcohol consumed at home carefully, as it is easy to fool yourself
10- Don’t ever give up! You are going to get bad days/weeks; it happens! Just get straight back on it and limit the damage

Warm up the wax to optimum temperature and use the small spatula to apply a thin layer of wax to the growth. Apply wax with the hair growth under the eyebrow, (i.e. in the same direction that the hair grows in). Be careful a little goes a long way and make sure to avoid letting the wax dry
The hair removal processNever wax above the eyebrow, only shape from below. Waxing from under the brow will widen your eyes and help to get the line even. This will make you look younger and much more glamorous if done correctly! As soon as it is applied remove the wax against the hair growth, (i.e. in the opposite direction that the hair grows in). This is done by gently smoothing a piece of cotton muslin over the waxed area, pulling the skin taut with one hand, and pulling the muslin off with the other.
It is a good idea to take a little hair off at a time, especially if you have fairly this growth. You will be surprised how much difference a little hair removal will make to your appearance.
